End of show season 2012

A nice closure to our show season in 2012: Pitlochry's Darragh won Best of Breed at Wijchen International All-Breed Show, handled by Flornece Fernhout and the day before the Pitlochry's Catweazle offspring, Skibberdeen's Rudolph won a ReserveCC at Ladies Kennel Association Championship Show in the UK, whereas 74 wolfhounds were entered altogether and our judge was the well-respected breeder-judge Liz Thornton of the Mochras hounds from the UK.

Pitlochry's Ottelo 6 months

After having prepared the young Pitlochry's Ottelo, a.k.a Lucius for his very first show (to be held today), we took the opportunity to take a picture of him, despite the weather we managed one that we quite liked. 

Lucius is owned by Aldebaran Contreras-Rivera from Mexico, groomed/trained/handled by Conny Fernhout and Anna Szabo (H), and posed on the picture by Maarten Boot (NL).

Joshua says Hello from Canada!

We are thrilled to announce that the young Pitlochry's Joshua is ranked as #3 Irish Wolfhound in Canada at the moment!

Joshua also won a Hound Group First recently under breed and group judge Mrs Sharon Derrick from Canada. His sister Pitlochry's Josephine won the Mid-West Irish Wolfhound Specialty in July in Calgary under breeder-judge Judy Orsi. 

They are owned, handled and loved by Holly Sturdy from Canada. Many Thanks Holly for being the best of owners !

Our Ballinskellig My Fair Lady went CAC, CACIB, Best Bitch - Amsterdam Winner '12 from a very strong bitch competition under Michael Faulkner of the United States. 

And another great win for the Pitlochry's Catweazle son, Just in Time of First Avenue: he won the Best of Breed and later he went Group2 in the finals! Many Congratulations to breeder Regine Vandamne and owner Gary Janssens (of Kilmara) !!

On the first weekend of November we showed in two countries: France and the Netherlands, and both 'Pitlochry's teams' had great success.

We thought it was time for our Pitlochry's Rolex to prove himself in the show ring for the first time in his life at the age of 5 years. He has been a fantastic stud dog so far, has sired sired countless beautiful puppies all around the world, including our own Huldah and the UK Ch Ravensbeech Veritas from Great Britain. Rolex made it to CAC, CACIB, Best of Breed and was Placed 4th in the Group !

Best of Opposite Sex to her was our Balliskellig My Fair Lady, and our deerhound bitch Pitlochry's Gloria Grey also went on to winning Best of Opposite Sex.

Our youngster, Pitlochry's Irish Gipsey represented us in France. Gipsey won CAC, CACIB, Best of Breed and was placed 3rd in the group finals on Saturday! On Sunday she was Best of Opposite Sex, and thus have gained two more tickets for her French Championship title.

An offspring of Pitlochry`s Quintus; Kellykerry Peony of Aerie goes Best in Specialty Show in strong competition of 187 irish wolfhounds under our breed specialist Frederic Maison of Grand Chien du Culainn irish wolfhounds from France.

Last year, at this very same show Peony was awarded Best Bred by Exhibitor under respected breeder-judge Jan Pain of Ravensbeech irish wolfhounds from the United Kingdom. Her critique about Peony:

"Really liked this lovely bitch, giving her handler a hard time, but she has superb breed type, and classic proportions. Beautiful head and expression, lovely rose ears, good forehand and strong quarters used to advantage on the move, even though she did her best to throw this class away."

The Pitlochry`s Catweazle offspring, Just in Time of First Avenue won CAC, Best of Breed and Best of Group under judge Louis Dehaes (B) at Charleroi National Dog Show. `James` has done remarkably well on the show scene despite his age, congratulations to his owner-handler Gary Janssens of Kilmara wolfhounds from Belgium, and breeder Regine Vandamne, also from Belgium !

Pitlochry`s Darragh makes it to another Best of Group at Zwolle CAC (number of total entries exceeded 1800!) show under judges Mrs L Cox (IE) and W Buitenkamp (B).

Fantastic weekend in Maastricht; our young starts exceeded our expecatations. Pitlochry`s Irish Gipsey, only 2 years old, went CAC, CACIB, Best of Breed, Best of Group and BEST IN SHOW 3 ! Pitlochry`s Darragh, same age of Gipsey, was Best of Opposite Sex to her. 

The number of entries exceeded 2000 dogs.

Our Cualainn Huldah was Best of Opposite Sex to him.

Also, Pitlochry`s Superman won CAC, CACIB, Best of Breed and finished his Dutch Champion Title!

And unbelievable weekend in Innsbruck... Grand Prix Roan Inish (Pitlochry`s Catweazle x Crazy Casey Roan Inish) goes Best of Group and BEST IN SHOW on Sunday, on Saturday she made it Group 1.

What a competition, what an atmosphere, what a show, what a weekend!

Skibberdeen's Bryanne went CC, Best Bitch, Best of Breed and BEST IN SHOW on Saturday from an exceptionally strong entry of irish wolfhounds and sighthounds. Bryanne was bred by Crista Hermsen of the Netherlands out of the son x mother combination; Skibberdeen's Rudolph x Pitlochry's Venus.

Best Male was the Pitlochry's Catweazle offsrping, Just In Time of First Avenue from the champion class of three excellent males. Second in the class was Pitlochry's Sting and 3rd was Skibberdeen's Rudolph. What a class!

Our youngster Pitlochry's Irish Gipsey made it to a 3rd place from a very strong open class, second was Cualainn Huldah behind Bryanne.

Breed and Best in Show judge was Lisbeth Mach from Switzerland.

Different judge, slightly different results today.

Mr Frank Sabella found his Best of Breed winner in Just In Time of First Avenue aka James on Sunday, who later went 3rd Best in Show under judge Anna Stuifbergen-Hoetjes from Holland.

Pitlochry's Darrach won his class and got his first CC, Pitlochry's Irish Gipsey placed 3rd in open class again.

Another of Rolex`s offsprings, Cualainn Jethro goes ResDVH and ResCC. Jethro was bred by Jonathan Harvey and is owned by Jon and Suzanne Janses of Gaeltarra irish wolfhounds from the Netherlands.
